Fangs God It’s Friday: Haiden Hazard

For the month of October, I’m doing something different for my weekly Fangs God It’s Friday. Where I’ve normally featured vampires and vampire hunters from film, TV, and books, I’m going to spend the five Fridays of this month introducing some cosplayers and models who’ve donned the fangs or stakes for some of their photoshoots.

This first one features Haiden Hazard, who went vampire hunter in her cosplay as Saya Kisaragi. Saya connects somewhat to a character from my most recent novel Gidion’s Blood. My vampire hunter assassin Jun, who Gidion nicknames Blood, draws some of her inspiration from the character of Saya from the anime film Blood: The Last Vampire.

Haiden isn’t cosplaying that version of Saya, but rather this is Saya Kisaragi from a spin-off animated series called Blood-C. I’ve included a picture of the character from the anime so you can see just how close Haiden gets to mimicking Saya’s look. On her website, Haiden even goes into detail on how she put together the costume.

As cool as Haiden’s cosplay of Saya is, my favorite cosplay she’s done thus far is probably of the character Asuna from Sword Art Online. My daughter and I both love that anime, and both really like the character of Asuna.

You can check out more of Haiden’s cosplays by visiting her online at her website and her social media. I’ve got all the links listed below.
